Author Visits At Your School

School Visits

Garry presents to school groups, pre-K-6th grades, in small classes , or in larger school assemblies of up to 150 students. Topics are tailored to each teacher's preference, and can include sharing the writing process, effective use of non-fiction books, a focus on nature science or an inspirational to get outside and explore your world. Most programs include all of the above.

School budgets are tight, but there are a variety of ways to make this a low-cost author visit. Basic rates are $400 for a half-day visit, $600 for a full day. Some schools pay the entire amount from their school budget, others offset the cost by promoting book sales before the event. 25% of all book sales go back to the school to offset the cost of the program.

Ask about how to make the most cost effective program for your school.
